    Hi.
    This will be my first post on this forum.

    Some background to my question.
    Swedish Lantmäteriet has now released some of their maps and geographic information as open data (free to download)
    e.g GSD terrain map, vector - fr.om 1 January 2016, Map in a scale of 1:50 000 which includes roads, paths and detailed descriptions of different types of forest. To use this product you need a GIS software that can handle formats - Shape or Mapinfo.

    So I was looking for a program that can handle shape files and found MPC.
    Unfortunately, the shape files have another projection (Sweref99) MPC can only handle WGS 84
    I have tried a few different programs to change the map projection but did not succeed as files are vector-based.

    Anyone have any tips for me?
    Thank you in advance.

    @thullen:
    Also struggling with this project. It is quite interesting since the data that are now let free is the most actual and accurate avalible and has not been free before.
    The FriluftskartanProv4 is based on this and since this map has been around for a few years an update would be nice.
    I managed to get the map, in shapefiles, into QGIS with reasonable style. From QGIS I think that one can produce a raster map but since the raw data is vector based it would be a shame not to produce a good vector map.
    Then there is the problem with the map datum that is SWEREF99 and MPC wants WGS84. I have tested two ways so far, one is to in QGIS convert each layer by right-qlick and select WGS84 but I have not succeeded with that yet.
    Another nice tool is OGR2GUI64 where you can convert to WGS84, there is also a commandline based version which I have not tested. With the GUI you can select a folder with many shp-files for conversion.
    It seems to do its work but when running MPC it does not produce a map like expected.
    I am a newbie with theese tools so hopefully some more success will come.

    And maybe this starts go go off-topic and will require a new thread.
