Default Navigon 40 Plus - TMC under iGO8?

So, getting iGO8 to run was no big deal, thanks to the excellent help provided here! Using Portsplitter I was able to set up GPS reception (Port 7, 4800 Baud).

But how about TMC? Any way to make that work too under iGO8?

    For general knowledge:

But, [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] will also not work for IGO 8.

Thank you! I was aware that you may need an external TMC-option if your device doesn't offer it. But doesn't the 40 Plus come with TMC?

    To quote Pocket-Lint:
"The traffic aspect of the 40 Plus comes by way of the RDS-TMC system using an FM radio connection which is built into the 12v connector."

But I haven't found a method to detect and use the TMC-device under iGO8!

Actually, TMC DOES work under iGO8. I've been using it for over 10 years by now. To this very day with two different WinCE-devices - Medion and MDA 3.

To quote from the thread you mentioned:
"TMC service does not work on the Primo program. This is not the fault of the program, the TMC server does not work. The Nextgen program must be used, there is no other solution.."

    Primo is NOT iGO8.

    GoPAL?

Anyway, if TMC works for you under iGO8, it's a miracle for WinCE-devices, not for mobilephone

Medion GoPAL E4450 (WinCE 6). I changed it btw. because Aldi doesn't sell them everywhere.

Well, I'm pretty sure I've been using it for TEN PLUS YEARS - including TMC Pro. Under iGO8. But what do I know...

@kwbs > TMC traffic - for WinCE, not online traffic Android. Radio based signal, via antenna.
Here the problem is on the other side

@ThePatcher - I'm not sure that TMC can be realized on Navigon. Portsplitter does not work with TMC receiver

    P.S.

For the "sports", can you upload a screenshot of your TMC - including the PRO, which you get?

The Medion GoPAL had a similar configuration and it works there too (or better has worked for years). But I remember there was also a patch required before iGO8 would recognize the GPS/TMC-devices. So maybe same problem here. Too bad PortSplitter is GPS-device specific.

Well @ThePatcher, is there any real difficulty in showing screenshots?

    What screenshots?

This is a REQUEST thread how to get TMC running under iGO8 on a Navigon 40 Plus.

There must have been other people who wanted to get TMC running as the device CLEARLY has TMC-functionality. And if not the 40 Plus than maybe one of the others of that generation under WinCE. Quite a lot of them are VERY similar in regards to hardware.
