A further follow up question about after you flashed QC3: Did you try disconnecting from the PC and re-connecting normally to see if MSM was then re-enabled?
It should have promptly exited preboot and entered MSM itself without a disconnect/reconnect if QC was genuinely successfully flashed, but sometimes that doesn't happen. If you didn't do a manual disconnect/reconnect or can't recall if you did, please flash QC again then report back.
QC works quite differently than tailored device-specific Cure fw so the final 'success' message rather than an error message is not remarkable even if it didn't actually work.
