The USB with the GarminDevice.xml was recognized as the dezl 770 in Garmin Express. I am attempting to download the maps again. Will edit this post later once it's completed (or failed).

As a side note, I did not add the basemap file you linked. It just showed those major roads by default.

Also another strange thing that I haven't mentioned in this entire proccess, is that even when I reformatted the dezl 770 entirely, when I finally managed to get it booted and reflashed with the firmware, it still had all of my POI's and other things saved and in tact. I wonder how that would be possible since I formatted it?

One other piece of important information I feel I should have mentioned is, Garmin Express thinks CN 2027.20 maps are installed to the unit. It says latest maps are installed, no updates available. But obviously as I mentioned before, It only displays the major highways, not a single street. So it's definitely not installed.

The map install was successful onto the USB thumb drive. Now what? I assume dragging everything over to the microSD card that would be inserted into the dezl 770? I'll wait for further instruction. Thanks again for all the help.
