Can I convert Nuvi 2555 to Dezl 560 Truckies Nav?

No, definitely not. Different hardware entirely. Nuvi 27x7 will convert to dezl 760 though.

Yes, but some precautions apply. Only 2x5W with HWID 0827. The PCB P/N is the same for 2x5W and 465 and the non-MTK 827 chip is the same. Do some research before you attempt such conversion, sorry but OT here so I cannot help in detail in this thread. I have US 255W & 265W converted to 465 and work perfectly, just no BT in 255W convert.

But, after read, i think that it's not possible.

Last year i've convert 2460 to dezl with your guide. My friend has use webupdater and reset all my work so now it's return to 2460 and work. I've try to reconvert it to dezl but i can't do it. I've download new firmware (2460 and dezl.....many links are dead). Clear NV and reflash with my file *.rgn (link of your 127....*.rgn file is dead) but nuvi is always 2460. Clear again NV and reflash but nothing. I've use 2460..360.gcd and dezl...370.gcd. Are new firmware not compatible with this conversion? Thanks

Did you remember to remove the file GUPDATE.CGD from .System folder of the unit? It would have been placed there when the fw was updated by WebUpdater. If it's left on the unit it would re-flash the full nuvi 2460 fw after you had loaded the 'hybrid' fw of nuvi 2460 boot.bin and dezl 560 fw_all.bin using Updater.exe in preboot. Because the unit's HWID remains as 1273 [from nuvi 2460] when using the hybrid fw it's still identified by Garmin helper programs as a 2460 and the corresponding full fw is added to the unit. This results in that re-flash on reboot.

In case you've made some error with the hybrid fw, i'll remake it with current 2460 3.60 boot and 3.70 560 fw_all and add it to Post #1.

Thanks. I've solve with your zip file on 1^ post. I don't know why but when i create my rgn file for updater, it's very small, about 600Kb. Your file is big. Thanks for new uploading. ciao

You need to tick all sections on left side in Rgn_tool.exe
I think you only ticked boot.bin !

No it won't work using the methods described here as you've read. They are dissimilar hardware. There are only 3 Garmin car to truckie's navigator conversions possible that i know of:

nuvi 2x5W > nuvi 465 [HWID 0827 only]
nuvi 2460 > dezl 560
nuvi 2797/8 > dezl 760/RV 760

The key is matching PCB P/N of the units. If they don't match then simple firmware flash won't work and if you force a flash the unit may brick. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

I want to convert 2797 HWID 1517 to DEZL 760, is it the same procedure?

Load dezl760_GCDfile__470.gcd and load the boot.bin
Override HWID to 1517 and save it as dezl760_470.rgn
