Yes that summary and the initial post here both need a cleanup, i'll see what i can arrange - thanks for pointing it out.
There's a trick to getting the GCD file from Garmin's Change History page. Right-click anywhere and then select "View Page Source" from the context menu to open another page. Highlight the link to the GCD, right-click it then left click "Go to https://download.garmin.com/software/nuvi24xx_GCDFile__360.gcd" to get the file.

Thank you Butters.
I've looked over that Nuvi 24xx thread a few times over the weeks and literally could not find a working link to the actual gcd file. All the file sharing host had removed them it looked like and all the Garmin links were to their change logs.
My Nuvi is now a Dezl. Thanks guys!
