Hmm. Honestly, I am hesitant to try to enable EcoRoute. My 3597 recently arrived and unlike with older units, I am not able to do a FULL and COMPLETE backup of my Nuvi. Garmin's drive is 7.5 GB, allocating 7.02 GB max; Used space of 5.19 GB; Free Space of only 1.83 GB.

My Windows settings all show "show hidden files". Garmin has hidden the files so you can't back them up.

    You must enable to show

    1.) hidden files
    2.)hidden system files
3.) MTP settings set to mass storage

only then you will see all files on nuvi.

For enable Ecoroute you can try with this pack over SD

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

When flash is over go to SD card in folder Garmin and you will see folder backup.
Add this folder backup in some safe place on your PC maybe some day you need it

    Angry

Another sh*tty tutorial. Can't you just edit it and make it MUCH MORE CLEAR and simple!?! It's taking me houres and houres just to figure out how to enable EcoRoute so I can save 10$ from buying it but it seems like much more hassle. I've copied the files from the "24x5 & 25x5 enable features" folder to the root of my SD card so it was all set correctly with the "Garmin>Updater..." and so on but after that when I rebooted my gps it keeps freezing at the Garmin logo, saying at the bottom (Loading Maps). This procedure better not have bricked my gps ffs!

Edit: Now if I remove my SD card it boots but everything is the same as before with Ecoroute still locked. Wtf...

    Thumbs down

Sorry if it sounded rude but I just don't understand how to make this work and I'm an expert in computers since 13.5 years so I really wonder how a random average joe could get this unlocking tutorial to work. There is many many links pointing to several threads that each says different things, some download links are down, there's billions of different Garmin models (2xxx, 3xxx...) but no matter what I follow, nothing seems to work.

1- I've made my backup with (RGN Tool v0.78) by loading (GUPDATE.GCD) on my Garmin 2555LMT gps. It then created 4.25Mb file named (41.bin) as well as a 752Kb (ldr.bin) file in the updater folder. The update log says the following:
(nüvi 2xx5 Software Version 8.00, UID: Censored, HWID: Censored
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Parsing "rrgn,41,1:/41.bin"
    Success
    Parsing "reboot"

2- I've used the modding program with the blue icon, to check the boxes to enable features after selecting on my SD card, the 41.bin which had nothing checked and ldr.bin which had a few checked. I've clicked save then I've edited the (Update.txt) file to change the text from left to the one from right. Pretty much all that changed is the first letter "R" that is now "X" since a thread said X was to restore the bin file.
    rrgn,41,1:/41.bin xrgn,41,1:/41.bin
    reboot reboot
3- I shutted down the gps, restarted it but nothing happened. It doesn't seem like it restored the new bin file with the unlocked features. When I go in applications > EcoRoute, it is still locked and now I'm out of ideas... at a point that I'm almost considering wasting 10$ to Garmin rather than lose another 10 houres messing around. I just don't want to pay mostly because I'm against their new policies of removing features that previously used to be free. Thanks if you can help!

You seem to have this tut confused with the region 41 NV backup one, as your post mentions 41.bin and your images show this:

    n6z7

    ouvn

Of course it can't work. You've saved 41.bin instead of 140.bin and then tried to mod the ldr.bin. Start over again, delete everything you've done [but save a copy of your 41.bin as it could help you if your nuvi ever bricks]. Re-read the tut in Post #1 here and note which features you need to check. TTS for instance is required to be enabled or you'll lose the spoken street names. I'd check everything except ASR (your unit doesn't have Speech Recognition) and EcoRoute Purchase and HD.

1- Hmm, with the RGN_Tool the only thing I can open is the file (GUpdate.gcd) of about 40Mb. Once I do it I get the following from the picture below so then I click save and it creates a 752Kb (Boot.bin) file.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

2- According to what I've read, I had to rename this boot file to (ldr.bin) then place it on my SD card in (Garmin\Updater\1371) along a text file named (Updater.txt) with the following below written in it:
    rrgn,41,1:/41.bin
    reboot

3- After I just shutdown the GPS and restart it. It then creates a backup file at the root of my SD card and it names it (41.bin) as it's what the updater.txt told him to do.

4- Now I open the modding tool and check the boxes you told me on the 41.bin file that is at the root of my SD card. I even did it for the ldr.bin so both have the same features enabled, then I reboot the unit again... but it doesn't do anything. I even tryed to change (rrgn,41,1:/41.bin) by (xrgn,41,1:/41.bin) as a backup tutorial I've found said it was the way to tell the gps to restore the updated 41.bin file you just edited, into the gps yet it still doesn't work.

Something is wrong within these steps which I am told to do from what I've read in the tutorial but I can't tell where exactly x_x

Edit: I ended up going in another thread which I already been before but somehow forgot about it. The tutorial at the link below is wayyy more simple and straight forward. I just download the right version, unrar it to an SD card, edit the 140.bin if I want to then I reboot the device and it finaly worked at last! :D Still thanks for your time.
