Ok, I don't know why I'm even replying to this (I really don't care if my reasons "bother" you or not), but here goes anyway...
Are you telling me that this screen:
Spoiler: Too Large Pic 1
has more visible map area than this screen (which contains the same information and more, not to mention other functionality that doesn't use any screen real estate):
Spoiler: Too Large Pic 2
Not only does the Decent skin show more of the map screen overall, but it also displays more information at the same time (and looks better and provides more functionality).
In terms of the data fields in the stock skin using more space compared to the Decent skin, I did a mock up for you - I put the 3 stock fields over top of the 3 Decent fields - which uses more space? If I added the other information that Decent provides on the screen (date, time, speed and second-turn info), it wouldn't even be close.
Spoiler: Too Large Pic 3
Simply put, Decent give me more information and uses less space - and the 1/4" of space that the data fields do take up is *behind* my vehicle anyway, so it would otherwise be "wasted" space. And I can even make the data fields transparent if I really wanted to show that map area as well.
Regarding NexgGen, first of all, I never said that "others doesn't" use it! Others are free to use whatever they want - for whatever reasons they want - it doesn't bother me like it appears to bother you. I never said that I don't use NextGen because it's not as "clean"" or "professional" - my point was that regardless of what else it does or doesn't do, it's a complete non-starter for me since there is no fully cracked version for WinCE. Until I can get past that limitation, I have no desire to even explore current versions. When I did try it when it first became available for WinCE in "limited crack" form, I found that I didn't like it (for a few reasons) - but the main reason why I won't even consider it *now* is because a fully cracked version doesn't exist. That is why I won't even consider NextGen - period. That is a VERY relevant reason to *me*.
I like the Decent skin for MANY reasons, one of which is the options that it does provide. Not how many options - but the usefulness of those options. When you combine that with the overall appearance and functionality, it's my preferred skin. I don't want to have to change a ton of code to get a skin that I like - especially when there is already one that does what I want. :-)
This will be my last post on the subject - I've already wasted *way* too much time on this subject...
