From his original post, the problem was the large power off button which gets accidentally pressed. The correct solution is to confirm before powering off, which I don't have time to do; so a quick hacked was just remove the power button only.

BTW, remove_reached_destination is irrelevant for this case
We've been trying to get "remove_reached_destination" to work for a few days now... Was just trying to figure out why it wasn't working for him.

Not sure what you mean by "is irrelevant for this case". I had to use that option to remove that screen (if he wants to remove the entire screen). I had "automotive=1" in my sys.txt forever (I think it removes the battery icon?), but had to add "remove_reached_destination=1" in order to remove that entire destination screen.

Irrelevant means not used. That screen depends on DestinationMenuShown and automotive. The variable DestinationMenuShown depended on shutdown_time. The variable remove_reached_destination was not used in the codes anywhere.

I'm telling you, I definitely had to use that option in sys.txt to remove that screen. I know that "remove_reached_destination" is in the .exe file - could it be used via the .exe file somehow (instead of the LUA files)?

I'm pretty sure it was 405512 too... Would be easy enough to test (I'll remove it the next time I take a drive and see if that screen pops up again).

Perhaps, I would not rule out sys.txt variables being used in library instead of application layer codes. I can only tell you what I see in the codes; search for it, ONLY igo9.ini has it as remove_reached_destination=0

That's why it's nice to have options! :-) I want at least 3 "info" fields present at all times (time to dest, distance to dest and arrival time). This skin also lets you see the date and time in addition to those three items (and speed) whereas with stock you can only see 3 data fields total. And if you look at the 2 screenshots above, it's obvious that there is more map visible in the Decent skin (plus you can use transparency as well)? You can "close" the bottom three fields to only show one if you want too. And the current street is still displayed? There are tons of options with this skin, but it's still very clean looking.

Personally, I don't like Dimka and other skins like it - way too much "crap" on the screen for me - and certain fonts are too big for their fields or not centered properly, etc - just looks 'sloppy' to me. Again, thats why it's nice to have options - not everyone likes the same thing. The Decent skin is VERY popular. I personally don't like NextGen - at least not on my 800x480 WinCE device (which is all I use for GPS). :-)

As I said, pretty much all skins gives you the options you mentioned. Hell, too much options sometimes. When I modded a NextGen skin, I even added many other fields. BTW, does Decent have "Average Driving Speed"? I find it and "Max Speed" useful. I do not see how it's possible to get more space when you just move those 3 fields from the side to bottom (taking the current street spot) and still have current street shown? It might "look" cleaner to you, but it still take same space.
Font's can be changed from within skin or outside quite easily. It's not hard to even change the skin yourself to "fix" some minor issues you're having trouble with. And you're right about few skins being "sloppy", I won't named them. But they do include nonsense features I feel not "professional." (*sic* animated policemen)
Actually, Decent is not "popular" compared to other skins, check the posts in any forums. I'm not saying it's bad, some people like to eat at McDonald's instead of Burger King's. It's a personal preferences, which I respect. But when you rationalized with some info that's not quite true, it's not right.
I have tried pretty much all versions of iGO/Primo/NextGen ranging from 320x240 to 1024x768 device resolution. And I can tell you that NextGen has the most professional looking native skin.

Yes, it has average driving speed (that is the small blue number above the speed in the pics above) - I actually disable it - I have no use for that data. I also disable the compass in the upper-right hand corner and the 2d/3d button next to it (again, for the "clean" look).

You get more map space because the Decent skin puts the three data fields *and* the current steet name in the same amount of space as the default skin uses for just the current street name (plus it displays the date and time at all times which is very beneficial, at least on my car 2DIN). But you free up the space used by those three fields on the right-hand side of the screen. PLus, it just looks nicer! I just find that the Decent skin provides a lot of options (and even "hidden" hotspots) while keeping the screen as clean as (or cleaner) than stock. I've never found another WinCE skin that can do the same thing as cleanly as the Decent skin (I think Ive tried them all). I never said it was the most popular skin, just that it's pretty popular (I get sharing requests for it almost daily!). Someone even developed a motorcycle-specific variant of it.

Regardless, you use what you like and I'll use what I like - then we're both happy. :-) Since there isn't a fully cracked version of NextGen for WinCE, it's not even an option - no interest (and didn't particularly like the version that I did test anyway - found that it wasn't very "finger friendly" on my 7" 800x480 car radio, which is the only place I use GPS.

Are the fields smaller? Compare with next street it doesn't look like it. I do not know how to explain it any clearer. Ok, one last analogy. Imagine a computer monitor as the map. Now imagine putting a pen holder (representing the data fields) at one corner. Now take that same pen holder and lie it horizontally in the middle of the display. You haven't reduced anything, as a matter of fact you made it worst because now it obscured center of display and not at the side. If any obscuring is done, I preferred it at a corner.

Subjectively. And speaking of popularilty look at the polls for which skins people use or like in this forum.

The info/warning about not being fully cracked is not to dissuade people from using it. You can use it if you can get license for the contents you're interested in.

I think you already complained about the "finger friendly" issue in another post and I replied that it's easy to change the size of the buttons (one of my mod for NextGen does just that.) Why make huge buttons that waste space if people don't need it? BTW, you must have one large finger if you think the default size buttons are small.

I'm not aware of any fully cracked NextGen for WinCE. If you try to use one, you must have licenses for the contents. You do not have to waste time installing just to see how it looks, check screenshots in posts of NextGen groups. Even when it's designed for high resolution devices (higher than 800x480), it still looks pretty darn good in 320x240.
