After checking my Rider v2 I discover that for some reason, probably because of the WNRO the bootloader is now 5.5279 which has not brought any special benefits for me, at least I have not noticed any of it.
The story that has been circulating for a while that a boot loader can only go to a higher version and not back, is not based on the truth, it is indeed possible to go back to a lower version in 2 steps, there is requires a special boot loader, a few examples:
Bootloader v0.0001 Reset any higher Bootloader
Bootloader v1.0100 Restore Faulty Flash Update

Even a flash error must be fixable with the last bootloader, I don't have that experience myself, but someone was able to fix it, not entirely sure how it went wrong

I did, however, provide the GPS chip with a flash update and that has certainly yielded the necessary benefits, no more minutes waiting for a signal.
