Ok,
Thanks for the reply and advice about the older TT Go.
Yes, my Android Head Unit is mostly off-line all the time. The only time I connect it to wifi is if I need to download maps, or if I'm too lazy to side-load an app I want to try.
I actually did like TT Go (I have mostly been using iGO Primo). My only issue with TT Go is that I can't seem to download the maps to the SD card. I don't care if the TT Go app and it's system files installs into the internal memory (I am ok with that). But the maps uses a lot of internal memory (especially the US maps). That is why I wanted to try TT NDS, and see if this version could store the maps to SD card.
I will try again with the older TT Go, and go into the Android/App setting to make sure SD storage is enabled (before initial startup and downloading maps). As a second option, is it possible to safely move the map folder to the SD card? Will TT Go know to look at the new SD location for the maps?
Another note: I also need to see how to stop that annoying "New Update" pop-up. Maybe I will just install the patched apk directly, without installing the google play version first (and uninstalling it). I think this is what loads the "New Update" prompt. This way I don't have to sign-in to my google account (for google play). I think the TT Go just needs wifi for it to connect to the TT servers and download maps. I will try it this way.
Thanks for the help,
ggee
