    patch BaseCamp and MapInstall universal patcher

    HV3IG

    Hi, I have created a universal patcher to patch the BaseCamp and MapInstall.
    Hope it works for future releases.
    The patches applied, are usually being applied in these two programs.

    Can not be startet on Win7 x64

    Error Message: comdlg32.ocx isn't registrated or missing.

    Tryed on 3 different Win7 x64 systems.

    I know, as quiet .... I also know that there are portable versions of various programs, including BaseCamp and MapInstall..

    MapSource for some things it is still a great program, and have a global patcher would the OPTIMUM...

    But one Win7 PC is a new untoched PC. So the patcher isn't x64 kopatible at once cause the file isn't includet on Win7 x64.

    You would think this would be somewhat easier, but apparently Windows 7 by default does not include this OCX file. However, the link catymag provides only mentions C:\Windows\System32. Problem is, on a 64-bit system a second copy of the file needs to be copied into the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 directory, then the commands run from the command prompt to register the file.

    hi roger1109,

    Not long ago Garmin Mapsource supports, so you will not get new versions.
    No need to create a patcher.

    The patcher has been created with Visual Basic 6 and seems to require libraries that are not present in the newer versions of Windows7.

    I've created and tested on windows7 x64.
    If it does not work will not have any VB6 library.

    I'm not a programmer and am sorry, no can do better.
    I think, the friends of the forum, have solutions to solve this problem.

    I have Win 7 pro and the COMDLG32.OCX file was already present in C:\Windows\SysWOW64.
    My file is there since 10 April 2012, I guess it came with this:
