Never mind I've found a backup copy and works with mapinstall.

The Mapinstall patcher works for me Win7 x64, btw you can patch MI manually comparing files in Hex Editor.
Mapsource is discontinued, Garmin doesn't support it anymore. New City Navigators maps selected and created with MS can give routing problems in gps, many topo maps are not visible or don't show properly in MS. Don't use it anymore.
Basecamp (+Mapinstall) replaced Mapsource and it is the recommended and actually developed software for Garmin mapping.
You have to navigate to get to the good.

Thanks for sharing. Just for my curiosity: does the linked application in post #1 and #57 not work with MapInstall?

Mapinstall patched is what I use create img files to send to my Garmin satnav precisely because mapsource is deprecated (I save to my computer and then copy to my Garmin).
Version 1 of the basecamp patcher (BaseCampPatcher.exe) patches basecamp (not tested because it's been updated) and mapinstall (tested working ok)
Version 2 of the basecamp patcher ( Garmin.basecamp.(universal.patcher)-patch.exe) patches only basecamp (tested working ok)
No, only the first version of the patcher does, the one that is missing and that I've uploaded above
