Thread: NG problems with "Pie" (Android v.9.0)

Dear colleagues, since my redmi note 7 has been updated to MIUI 11.0.3.0 ... iGO is no longer NextGen Israel, Gift Basar ,. Does anyone know if something can be done?

The solution for other colleagues
After updating the version of MIUI, I had a black screen, the launch does not start. I transferred the entire IGo_Israel folder to an external memory card (probably it was possible on the computer through the cord). It was transferred, not copied. Those. The source folder has been deleted.
Then he simply copied this folder from the external card back to the internal memory, where it was before that. I did not remove or install anything.
After this shamanism, navigation began to work.

after the MIUI-update, NG_Pal .719974 still worked for me.

The problem is, if you leave the app - but not really finished. Then I get a black Screen when I tap the App-Icon.

I have not used NG_Gift/Israel since Android 8 because no VR is possible anymore.

Quick fix.

You most probably use secondary root "addons", change the name to something different (e.g. cats), update your sys.txt. Voi-la!

Just for information, Boki and me, we are always using folder named "iGO_Maps\content\..." for all "static" (read only) content.
That way you'll always know what is inside
Some program versions create folder "addons" inside "Android\..." folder, and that could be source of collision (program confusion).
I use separate folder also when installation of program and other content is on same media (internal or SD) to be able to use same content with different program versions.

I write from experience with many Devices, from Samsung over Huawei to xx "China special":
I have learned: as of Android 6, some iGO Primo Nextgen only understood Folder addons/. Name such as igo_map etc. were not recognized/found.

Since this Android version until now Pie there were no more Problems with addons/ 100th Device

but critically just google.Play.Protect active (especially at Samsung) and very critical the idiosyncratic MIUI from XIAOMI

I managed to get an NG_Gift 27.681657 on a Redmi 7 to run today, before I had tried almost everything Nextgen with different SYS.txt; all stopped with a black Screen.
Why an iGO_Gift 27.681657 started today, but an NG_Gift 27.687519 only got to the black Screen remains a mystery! ??
** there was no MIUI Update in between, I still have Global v.11.0.2.0
