    Amigo Caravan

    Igo NextGen Version: iGO_Navigation_9.18.27.682862

    Have just bought a caravan; how can I setup iGo for a longer, wider vehicle and make sure it doesn't send me down narrow lanes?

    Define caravan
    If it is just standard bigger car, you have
    - Settings > Route preferences > Vehicle > Add profile > Car
    at the bottom of standard car settings you have
    - Use Extended Settings
    there you can define: Length, width, height, and other essential parameters

    Or, use settings for lorry.

    It is updated version of same program you use

    There are also other restrictions related to "caravan" vehicles, which could be retrieved also trough TMC, and are mostly time limited.
    Sometimes traffic could be restricted for them, other vehicles with trailers and motorcycles on bridges because of strong wind or for some other reason.
    So it is good to select proper vehicle in program.

    Another way is to select "trailer" in extended options for vehicle (car) if program does not have "caravan" vehicle, as restrictions are mostly (not always) same.

    One reason profile is use is because there are some settings in sys.txt (based on vehicle type) that could impact routing. Also if proggy can handle data from .ftr then that is used as well (although when I tested it under NextGen9.18.27.687519-Gift(26Jan2017), it wasn't too accurate.) I have yet seen TMC impacting data from profile, but then it might just be a regional thing.

    @Mag, truck does it all the time when they haul cargo. I would think going up/down hill and in windy condition would be a challenge. But I've seen truck hauling pretty heavy weight.

    @MyDreamer, 1) Last time I checked, NextGen9.18.27.687519-Gift(26Jan2017) has it. 2) Yes.

    I have been through every menu item and cannot find the EXTENDED option; maybe I have a UX file missing or something. Any help would be good.

    You need to select correct vehicle under Settings->Route Preference. Certain vehicles allow certain capability. Truck allows "extended" settings such as height, width, weight, etc...
