The most recent and among the best versions is Nextgen iGO_Pal (Palestine). The name is relatively irrelevant - Avic, Gift, World.... They are all iGO Primo NextGen editions.

Pal is latest, it has almost all possible functions, it behaves quite well, so I recommend it. But, as said, you can use any that you think suits you best - Avic/Basar/... - from section:

Installation
Simple - download the archive, unpack, get the folder iGO_Pal, let that name remain (although it is possible to rename it to e.g. iGO)
You add the ALL necessary files to that folder - maps and content, globalcfg, DEM file, languages and voices, everything in its right place.
Then you put the integrated package in the root of the internal memory of the device, run the apk, follow the installation and that's it. After installation the apk can be deleted.
Now, depending on the version of Android and the manufacturer, somewhere you have to manually assign software permissions, somewhere you have to adjust a bit more ... but that's up to the phone/tablet/HU ...and user knowledge. Use a google.
To manipulate files and copy/move in the device memory, use a good file manager with all the privileges. Some of the recommended ones are TotalCommander for Android, or X-Plore ... They are easy to find on famous hosts - apkpure, apkmirror, apk4free, a2zapk, etc.

The system in your device can "mask" the real name of the external card and the interior memory. Software of this type, in addition to perfectly manipulating files, displays storage real names. Required when setting the path in the sys file.

No root access required in any case.

General rules:
- DO NOT OVERLOAD.

You don't need a complete Europe, Australia, Russia and the Nordic countries ... If your vehicle is not a Betmobile, you will certainly not visit everything in a couple of weeks.

If you are, then these files are mandatory. Also, the software must be adjusted in detail according to the parameters of the truck.
- hnr are mostly surplus, especially on short tours. If you are planning longer tours, you can. If you are traveling only in Eastern Europe, then put hnr files only for Eastern Europe. If your path covers part of Eastern and part of Western Europe, then use hnr which covers the whole of Europe. Not all available (eastern, western, EU-wide)
- DEM, recommendation is to use the 88MB one for the EU, premium are bulky and heavy, on the small screen they are no improvement
- fds files are useless at the moment, don't even download them at all
- if you don't like colorful and change often, you don't need a bunch of schemes or skins. Only when you become skilled, and become aware that you need something more than basic functions, you can follow the topics related to skins.
Clean software is absolutely functional
- save folder only in the internal (this if you have a card and install the software for SD from there, and where possible - older Android versions). For now, stick to standard installation from the internal memory.

Preferably, with newer Android editions, it is necessary to keep the software (50-60MB) in the internal memory, while it is possible to transfer maps and accompanying content (1-4GB) to the card. This is mostly necessary for older mobile phones that do not have enough memory or just if you want to.
