Yep, that is what I'm afraid of, proggy is not "properly" made to work on WinCE PNA (maybe it's for PDA) Keep an eye out for a different proggy and hope that it would work. The android equivalence gives wrong keycode* on my device, so take it with a grain of salt.

I take it none of your devices are capable of minimization?

    * or perhap keycode that doesn't work

I can enable and select "Minimize" on all 3 of the 2DIN's I have - but none of them take me back to the 2DIN interface after minimizing. It seems that minimizing just takes you back to the GPS "loader" app - which is just a screen with a manufacturer wallpaper on one (Rosen GM1010), the "select GPS app path" on another (Advent OGM-1) and on the last one (GM1210), it just hangs there (turns minimize button yellow and hangs).

I can actually get back to Primo on some, but others need a reset to get back to Primo after minimizing... So yeah, the minimize function does not work well on the 2DIN's I've tried it on.

Ok, I'm getting the picture now. The DIN have it's own OS* (that is not WinCE), and has a way to switch to WinCE running nav proggy. The minimized event is just for WinCE (which makes sense) that will allow a different** proggy to run under WinCE. Currently there is no function and will "exit/switch" from WinCE back to it's native OS.

    * maybe OS is too strong a word, perhaps state or environment
** this is assuming the multi-tasking capability of WinCE was enabled

I am afraid that there is no solution.
In short: Bug in device firmware.

I honestly don't understand how a manufacturer can produce a 2DIN with no way to switch between the 2DIN functions and the Navi function. It makes no sense to me.... I understand that it's an inexpensive "Chinese" unit, but still... That a pretty major function to omit! :-)

Personally, I think that I'd try an return it and buy something else if at all possible.... You should be able to freely switch back and forth at will (without having to exit and restart the navi software).

Perhaps the navi proggy on that unit is NOT originally NNG. Navi proggy require licensing for map update. The seller might just put cracked proggy to prevent that. And yes, I agreed, not having that ability really sucks. Personally, I would return it (even the price was very nice) and get a brand that would work "correctly."

.... maybe you could try a script (mortscript) to launch from iGo as an external program.

The problem is: what do you run? I don't think the 2DIN binaries are able to be seen or run from the Navigation "side" - so there really isn't anything to run... At least that is how it is on the 2DIN I'm most familiar with (the Rosen GM1010). He could always try putting a WinCE file explorer on the GPS card (rename the GPS .exe file and name the WinCE file explorer what the navi .exe file was originally named - this will cause the file explorer to run instead of the navi app) and see if he can access any of the 2DIN binaries. If he can, there is a chance that we could run something via the External Programs UX add-on to get us back to the 2DIN functions. If not, we're SOL... :-)

That would probably be my last ditch recommendation - put a WinCE file explorer on there and "see what you can see". It's a long shot, but you never know - you just might get lucky (if everything is running in the same "space").

Here is a link to a few WinCE utilities, including CECMD.EXE (file explorer) in case you want to try what I said above...

Is it a safe thing to do, i mean is there a possibility that i can wipe out some file in the unit?

It's just a file manager - the only way that you can wipe out some files is if you purposely delete them.

Basically, the radio will just start a file explorer instead of the navigation app - from there, you can look around to see if you can see anything other than the navigation app itself. If you *can* see the 2DIN-related files, we could possibly setup the Primo External Program UX add to possibly run them from Primo, which may allow you to return to the 2DIN interface from within Primo. It's a pretty advanced setup though - and that is assuming that you can even see the 2DIN apps at all from the navigation side. A lot of if's, and's and maybe's involved here.. :-)

Are you still within the return period for the radio? If so, I think I'd explore that option before trying to mess with the External Programs thing...
