True, it's a convenient options that people might find useful. At end of destination, let say from shopping, you need to find any places you recognized that you need to drop by*. Summary is nice to remind the users how the route was made, perhaps for future references of knowing where it is.
But each to their own taste, that's the beauty of NNG, highly hackable.

    * I go shopping at Target and oh wait I need to drop by Walgreen as well.

This image (if you can actually see the picture, still new at this) is what I get when I try to exit the gps screen. it just stays on this screen until I turn the radio off.
I tried to add the file at the end of the sys.txt and the unit still doesn't turn off, but I did not try to run a destination, i'll try that tomorrow.

    [itiner]
    remove_reached_destination=1

Any idea what would make the unit exit the gps to return to the main menu?

this is what I get when I run the gps to a specific address, when I arrive at destination and click on turn off.

That first screenshot is the exit bitmap and if you're following what we were saying you really can't exit proggy to return to what?
The setting in sys.txt doesn't "turn off", it prevent that screen from showing; please try to read and follow what we are saying.
Don't posts consecutively, just edit post and add.
The second screenshot is not viewable.

Thanks for the clarifications, the second picture showing a white screen is what I get when I click on the end button after I arrive at destination.
I understand that you don't exit the proggy but is should remove the screen or minimize it, that's what i am looking for.
i have uploaded the files in zippishare.com, now i have to figure out how to give you access to it. I appreciate all the help and be patient with me i am new at this.

After adding the new lines to sys.txt (and rebooting radio/restarting car), that screen should no longer show up when you reach your destination. But even if you leave that screen enabled, just don't press the "Turn off" button anymore. :-) Press "back" to get back to back to the GPS software or press the "Navi" hardware button to switch back to radio functions (Navi button should switch between Navi app and radio functions - at least that's how it works on mine). Like I said, the Navi app should always be running and you can just switch back and forth between navi and radio functions with the hardware buttons on the radio.

Unless I'm misundstanding what the issue is?

Actually when i have no back button and when i press on the Navi button it reboots the navi app, i have not yet found a way to go back to any other screens when in Navi mode, thats what my issue is!

I'm still confused... On that "Power off" screen, there is a virtual "Back" button at the lower left-hand part of the screen (see the screen shot that I previously posted). If you push that Back button instead of "Power Off", it should close that "Power Off" screen.

I'm just not real clear on the exact problem here...

You should be able to just press the physical "Radio" button to switch to radio, DVD to switch to DVD, etc... Navi to return to navigation. On mine the Navi button with also switch to radio if in navi mode or navi if in radio mode (it's a "toggle" to switch to and from navi).
