On my Android i use Sygic, since Navigon was discontinued a few years ago.
As a pure navigation device I use a Garmin.

For many years I used iGO. From the 8th to several Primo versions, till I "discovered" Sygic. Used to be the only Navigator on the way from Germany to Greece through the Balcans. The latest version though takes ages to start up...
Not to mention that trying to give a new address while driving, never comes to result, I had to hold on till my position get granded!!! Maybe the problem is my Chinese 2 Din Naviceiver, but it wasn´t funny any more! So I returned to iGo, this time with Nextgen, thanks to you guys! Well what can I say? The 2200 kilometers route will get completely ready to go in less than 5 seconds! So it wasn´t due to my old Pumpkin Naviceiver! And giving a new destination while driving is no problem any more! Nextgen knows exactly where I am and don´t have to stop to trace me

First nav system I got was an old Navigon which wasn't great since the maps were so old and I didn't purchase new ones. After that I tried some gps apps on android and stumbled upon Sygic. Now I've been using Sygic for years (also before they changed to the subscription model) and I'm really pleased with it since it's really accurate and it always brought me to the correct designation. Probably not gonna change from it since I have so much POI's saved on it.

I do use Google Maps ocasionally to check how the buildings / houses / street look to be 100% I'm on the right location

I like Automapa. But no current traffic files available.

I've been using iGO navigation on my Xperia Z4 Tablet for years because for me it's the most customizable. Currently my favourite is the Pongo skin with truck options, weather and traffic information.

My first navigation was a TomTom Go 700. It did cost a fortune but I thought this technique would be the future.

Well, no. It served me well, but it turned out that map updates were a problem when TomTom decided to fade out my model. So I replaced it with a Becker Professional, including "lifetime updates". And again, I was frustrated, when Becker closed business just two years later and my "lifetime updates" were worth nothing.

    I was "not amused"

The Becker app, that is needed to buy new maps don't even start up anymore. Before that it refused to recognize the attached device so it was of no use anyway. But then I found about an active community that built around those devices, keeping them Alife. So I learned that my "Becker" is just one flavor of "iGo" as others and that I can keep it updated through the back door. Every time I am able to refresh the map, I get a big grin in my face that I could again force my share of the promised "lifetime upgrades".

I still have no car with all those magic displays that make them look like the cockpit of a jumbo jet. No built-in navigation. So I hope to keep this little helper for some more time, even though I'm aware that dedicated, portable navigation devices are an anachronism in the age of smartphones and digital cockpits. I certainly will not buy another one.
