First nav system I got was an old Navigon which wasn't great since the maps were so old and I didn't purchase new ones. After that I tried some gps apps on android and stumbled upon Sygic. Now I've been using Sygic for years (also before they changed to the subscription model) and I'm really pleased with it since it's really accurate and it always brought me to the correct designation. Probably not gonna change from it since I have so much POI's saved on it.

I do use Google Maps ocasionally to check how the buildings / houses / street look to be 100% I'm on the right location

My first navigation was a TomTom Go 700. It did cost a fortune but I thought this technique would be the future.

Well, no. It served me well, but it turned out that map updates were a problem when TomTom decided to fade out my model. So I replaced it with a Becker Professional, including "lifetime updates". And again, I was frustrated, when Becker closed business just two years later and my "lifetime updates" were worth nothing.

    I was "not amused"

The Becker app, that is needed to buy new maps don't even start up anymore. Before that it refused to recognize the attached device so it was of no use anyway. But then I found about an active community that built around those devices, keeping them Alife. So I learned that my "Becker" is just one flavor of "iGo" as others and that I can keep it updated through the back door. Every time I am able to refresh the map, I get a big grin in my face that I could again force my share of the promised "lifetime upgrades".

I still have no car with all those magic displays that make them look like the cockpit of a jumbo jet. No built-in navigation. So I hope to keep this little helper for some more time, even though I'm aware that dedicated, portable navigation devices are an anachronism in the age of smartphones and digital cockpits. I certainly will not buy another one.

My first navigation was MIO C720, then TOMTOM XL.
Currently, these are only applications on the phone TomTom, Sygic, AutoMapa...

After many years professional driver i write for the system with best routes.1.HERE WE GO in the first editions with Nokia profile, best routes ever.2.tomtom the lat editions for android. Not in the fast choice ,the second choice fast and small roads.Tomtom have the best tmc far away for anything else,it shows closed roads for public marcets, from people in the streets, from religion closed anything. It is not so friendly when search some addresses with same name but in different areas.3.Igo8 old but is very good routes.4.Igo primo i dont know why but in windows it shows much better routes from android.5.Igo luna very good when you write a address but some times when you speak a address from microphone you show wrong destination, most of the times in the next near street.6 googlemaps in some areas of the city it shows very long rootes and wrong numbers and the famous tmc its not the level of tomtom.7 Sycig the last editions its a very big mess ,routes are very wrong, special in fast choice,i dont use it any more in taxi, the destination is always rigt but the routes is if you have many time
