    That is very interesting, it seems that HL and Sg maps need different firmware in order to work properly.
    If you live in that region, it would be very helpful if you find a local unit that supports JCV (such as 1460Sing/Mal or 1355 CH) and check the inventory. Then share with us number next to "splash" item and device model.

    Here you can find a new RGN file. It is made for 13xx units, SW version 490 with original Chinese Splash screen from 1355 (splash 1340-65).
    Try flashing your device with this file (instructions from the first post), it will change your splash screen to version 1340-65. I hope this yould be compatible with HK JCV for your device.
    If it doesn't work, you can flash it back to previous version (splash 1340-50) which works with EU and Australian maps.
    Please note, this RGN file is ONLY for 13xx untis, SWV 4.90!

    Hi dvazg,

    Thanks again for your help. I just flashed my nuvi to 1340-65 with your RGN file. I have also done a hard reset on it. Unfortunately the same behavior as before is observed.
    One thing I notice though. Of the three map/JCV pairs I tried, the only successful pair (Aus/NZ) has the map UNLOCKED itself. The other two maps are LOCKED, and become unlocked by the supplying a corresponding unlock file (.unl) I am not sure if this really matters, but it is the only 'difference' I can observe at the moment.
    Ah... this nuvi is driving me nuts....

    In that case. why don't you unlock the map itself and try again... although I am not sure that that would affect JCV...
    BTW, while you were in 1340-65 splash, how did the AU/NZ JCV behave? Were you able to see JCV images? Is lane assist working?

    Hello guys,

    Can someone explain how to find the possible logo SKU's in the nuvi 13xx/14xx firmware?

    Cheers,

    @ lolypop000

    SKU (or if you like Part Number or ID) is for example 1340-40, 1340-50, 1340-65 etc. and as you know different SKU numbers unlock different features in nuvi when written in the header of logo.bin. All possible logo SKU's can be found in the firmware of nuvi. My question is where are they placed in the firmware. I need just an example.

    Hope I was clear enough.

    Cheers,

    @pj4mj

    Put gupdate.gcd in . system folder and restart nuvi.

    @ddabcd277

    Write in hex editor in search number 30 00 30 00 36.
    I never search number in firmware becouse i post on other forum to user that i need splash number from all nuvi series 1xxx and users send it to me. Nuvi splash numbers:

    old 1300 D1340-00 show nothing
    new 1300 D1340-80 show LA and Speed limit

    1350,1390,1490 D1340-50 and D1340-65 Show LA and Speed limit,JCV

    so a 1300 will not have JCV if you put the JCV file on the 1300 after applying the firmware upgrade?

    it will have everything: JCV, LA and speed limit - the formware changes splash screen to 1340-50, so everything should work. At least, it should work with EU, US and Australian maps; Asian maps seem to have an issue that requires changing the whole firmware.

    Hi dvazg & lolypop000,

    I have encountered a problem from step 4 post 1. The updater couldn't detect my garmin even though my window (Vista) did. Any suggestion?
    My unit is the nuvi 1350, soft version 5.1. I have downloaded the required flash file from your link for Unit 13XX and version 5.1.

    I have noticed that when i pressed the upper left corner (right after the Garmin logo appeared), the update progressing bar, it only appeared briefly and didn't move at all. After about 10 second, the mass storage icon appeared.

    Please advice. Thanks
