Doesn't offer to reinstall the same version, Loly, Angelo & Giomen were right (of course)
And it's happy with the standard 30/40/50 files
If anyone wants to play here's the modded rgn using original 40 boot.bin and 140 fw_all.bin with hwid & sw version overides:

Usual cautions and disclaimers apply, use it at your own risk and if you brick your 40/50, don't blame me (hit Giomen up for a new one instead).
Usual 40/50 JCV & Text etc files work OK.
Now need an 'advanced user' to jig the traffic in the fw so it can use an external receiver.
P.S. And if you do intend to load this modded fw, make sure you do an nv backup first as loly kindly reminds us in a later post. (For the record, yes i did!).
