Before you will use any cure software you always can use pretty tricks in the your case:

With the nuvi powered off, press and hold the upper left hand corner of the touchscreen with your finger.
Continue to hold the touchscreen while pressing and releasing the power button on the device.
Plug USB.
Wait for few minutes...

Usually Garmin Nuvi 1xxx start in Masstorage mode and you can delete all wrong files of POI and voice without problem.
