Unfortunately, back to original garmin boot loop.
Unfortunately, back to original garmin boot loop.
What information were you able to obtain from me running the boot.bin rgn and fw_all.bin rgn tests?
Nothing, yetI was going to make sure that your device doesn't flash firmwares anymore, which is not recoverable as far as I know, but it seems that it still can.
Let's try clearing non-volatile memory, it helps frequently.

Put Garmin folder on an SD card and insert it into the device. Then flash the RGN. And after, say 5 minutes, remove the SD card and upload its contents. A few new files should appear on the SD card. If there are no new files then don't upload
Also let's see how it behaves with the following tool:

Is the order of the command important? I'm trying to think through your first step. Sorry, can you clarify that better? I don't have one of those dongles that allow you to plug in an SD card and then connect to the garmin. I do have and external hard drive that I could directly connect to it, but I'm not sure how I'd run commands from the garmin using the newly created garmin folder. I do have the ability to plug an SD card into my computer though.
Try the first, then the second. I meant using a MicroSD card, a tiny SD card which can be inserted into the nuvi.
Gotcha, I see the port and have the card. Trying that now
I got 2 files: 41.bak and 41.bin. How do I upload them to you?
Please upload the entire Garmin folder, there should be more files deeper![]()
I also ran the start.bat file from QuickCure3-with-flasher and got this:
QuickCure3 v0.2 by kunix
payload comment:
HWID&SWVR; MOV R8,R12
Initializing USB...
hwid = 972
swvr = 420
name = nⁿvi 13xx Series Software Version 4.20
Initializing USB once again...
sending the payload...
all done
now the device should enter the mass storage mode
Press any key to continue . . .
Should I flash and RGN at this point or is it just done? A power off and power on of the device still has garmin boot loop.
The device was supposed to enter the mass storage mode immediately after running start.bat. Did it do that?
