I've already answered there. No need to double post.

This fixed my totally bricked 1490LMT after attempted map update June 2012. Coupled with RMPrepUSB program worked flawlwssly. Huge thanks to kunix and my stumbling upon NOEMAN. I thought I had spare time to dink around with my gadgets...this site has proven me wrong. Great job!

What's the exact problem? Freezing is not a real problem it's a just symptom. For example, when formatted to NTFS, many nuvis will freeze.
Usually freezing devices are cured with GarminCure3 and/or by clearing NV memory.

No, it has nothing to do with updating firmwares or other files. It's used for creating CURE firmwares from normal firmwares.

amazing software , great work of coding!!!
but may i ask a question?
in the case is impossible to connect the nuvi to the pc via usb (usb connetion)?

ps may i know where does nuvi store the firmware exactly? is there a special memory for it (like dvd burners) or in the solid disk just like all the other files(like maps and so on)

If the Nuvi cannot be connected to the PC via USB or it does not enter into pre-flash mode via USB it is not possible to load GarminCure3.
Some work can still be done via SD Card. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Lolypop and Kunix and others are the masters on the Forum on this technique.

The Firmware is stored in Flash Memory Regions, There is a Flash memory Chip inside the Nuvi connected to an ARM Processor.
    Example: a 3490 with HWID 1376 -- boot.bin is flashed to region Hex 0C, fw1_Resources.bin Hex 7F and fw_all.bin Hex 0E
Flash Memory regions are reserved areas inside the Flash Memory chip that have a start adress and a end adress.
Flash Memory Regions are also used for other functions, eg Region DEC 41 is the NVRAM, This is where unlock codes for Maps and other important Parameters are stored.
It is possible to read and write to some regions using the technique in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.
