Yeah but I don't understand why is it so hard to answer my question
Thank you for the explanation. I do own a 3790T. I guess I can have all benefits of the new 34xx models now? Or is the hardware of the new models different from the old models?

Because better/worst is a subjective opinion and nobody will answer this for you. The truth is that Garmin doesn't improve their products but rather change their features. Some people could prefer older devices. For example 37xx could add a VIA to a route, which doesn't work the same way on 34xx. I prefer 34xx but I miss this feature.
As strange as it might looks, the VIA to a route option exists in Greek Text !!!
When I choose another point while routing I have two options:
1) start new route
2) add to existing route
and I can choose even a third point and I can even rearrange their position as first, second and third.
When I select English Text the availiable options are:
1) Drive
2) Walk
No Via option here!!!!
Garmin Lost in Translation ???????
At this point nuvi 34xx converts route to trip and VIA to destination.
I think this depends on distance to destination, not on language. Your destination is too near and nuvi suggests, that you can get there by foot
But select "drive" and proceed.
I also vastly prefer 34xx over 37xx. However the succinct advice by aekhong 'Just try it' is correct. There are whole threads in Noeman and elsewhere devoted to problems experienced by some users due to satellite accuracy problems after conversion. In some cases minor and dismissible, as found by both myself and Kanopus with our converts, but there are many more reports of accuracy loss severe enough to be concerning. Perhaps that's because the ones not having such problems aren't reporting it, and the others are. Read this thread: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and then decide for yourself. It's now very easy for novices to convert and reconvert using the sd method. Heed the advice about NV backup and you won't risk anything. If unhappy you can always come back to 3790. Apart from the 34xx features already mentioned, such as Guidance 3 navigation, there's Android Smartphone link, and you can enable extras such as Video & mp3 players, so you may wish to read this thread also: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Thanks for the info. I've tried flashing over 7.10 34xx and was successful. Reading the 1st post, copying over all xml files over to the Garmin directory will enable all features if I have 7.10 and older versions. I restarted the nuvi and the features in the Apps folder don't show up, what have I missed here? I'm not really sure if the xml files won't work in 7.10 because it is said in the first paragraph in the green note in the OP that "since sw 7.10" it is not supported but in the second paragraph it says "If you flashed the old firmware 7.10". The first paragraph means 7.10 does not support those xml files but the second paragraph says it does, so which is which?
EDIT: Nevermind, I tried downgrading to 7.00 and it still didn't work and then I tried 6.20 and the xml copy method worked just fine, I have all the features enabled now. This means that since 7.00 (not 7.10) the enable features application is not working.

Yep, that also means that you did it the hard way, not using the sd card method which can enable the features as well as i suggested:
So you either missed that, or this in Post #1:
Or you just wanted to do it the hard way for the experienceand that's ok. No problem anyway, you got there in the end and that's the main thing
.
While on that subject, about the enabling of features via xml: my recollection is that it could be done with v7.10 fw, but not with anything after that and i see no contradiction between the two statements in Para 1 & 2. They both mean that v7.10 fw and earlier works by xml method, but later versions don't work (i.e. from 7.20). Not sure why it didn't happen with 7.10 for you ...?
EDIT: Downgraded to 7.10 overnight and xml method won't work, downgraded further to 6.50 and worked. You're right .. sorry. I see Caty has already fixed Post #1.

Didn't actually miss it. My problem is that I can't go out of the house to buy a microsd card so I had no choice but to do it the hard way![]()
I'm not really sure why it didn't work for me with 7.10 but I repeatedly tried and confirmed that it didn't work and even with 7.00. This made me guess that 7.xx, starting from 7.00, don't allow xml files to enable features anymore.
You have to navigate to get to the good.
