May be so another reasons.
Do not forget - Part Number use in software and hardware for identification of addition files (voice and ect.) and another modules. Sometimes only last seven number use.

With this additional information (limited space for header), what they did makes sense.

(Now I can stop scratching my head...)
The SQL files (010-xxxxx-xx.db) are up to almost 100 Megabyte in size.
What's in them to make them so large?

Is there a way to change the display font for some geographic features in Transalpin 2012 Pro?
With Mobile XT 5.00.20w on my HTC Touch Diamond 2 (480 x 800 pixel, WM 6.5), the labels of some geographic features are barely legible:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
The labels read (clockwise from the top): 'Vajolet Pass', 'Rosengarten', 'Catinaccio', 'Laurinscharte'.
In BaseCamp the labels display in a normal screen font and clearly legible.
What determines the fonts used for these geographic features?
How can I change the fonts to make them more legible?

Hallo Franz,
if you have not found any setting in the phone menu, maybee the change of the fonts in the typfile will work.
Do you use the original typfile ?
I have looked through the phone settings, and I have not found anything that would influence the fonts used for these geographic features.
Yes, I am using the original TYP file that is included in the original IMG file.
As I said, in BaseCamp the labels display in a normal screen font, and they are clearly legible.
In BaseCamp, the labels 'Vajolet Pass', 'Catinaccio', and 'Laurinscharte' display in a small size of the normal screen font, the label 'Rosengarten' displays in a slightly larger size of the normal screen font (set to 'Microsoft Sans Serif' in BaseCamp Options -> Display -> Map Font).
When I look (with GMapTool) at the TransAlpin 2012 Pro IMG file, I see (in addition to a large number of individual map tiles) 00002470.IDX (probably an index file), 00002470.MD2 (does anybody know what this MD2 file is for?), and I00009A6.TYP (the TYP file, which is supposed to determine how map features are displayed).
So, trying to change fonts in the TYP file may work (unless somebody has a better idea).

With a typ file, you cannot change the font.
The font is determined by the rendering engine (i.e. Mapsource, Basecamp, the GPS unit etc...)
But you can change the color and the size of the labels : just use "Extended Labels" in TYPViewer and select the font style and the custom colors you want.
(you have to know the type and subtype of the object you want to change the label)
I did manage to arrive at a satisfactory solution (by using 'Extended Labels' in TYPViewer).
Since I did not know the type and subtype of the objects I wanted to change, it took quite a bit of experimentation.
Is there a way to find the type and subtype of an object in BaseCamp (to reduce the amount of experimentation)?
PS: Please, let me thank you very much for creating TYPViewer. Great product!
