Thanks Cathy, however during the "purchase" you need to login to the Garmin servers and valid address in Belgium or Luxembourg (can be a McDonalds).
Received the code (look in the spam folder, just in case), purchase the map for 45 Euro, apply the code, make sure the checkout shows 0 Euro.
Login, confirm the purchase, and you'll find the map download in your Garmin account.
Need a device connected for the download.

...I did change "http://www.garmin.com/be_fr/brazil" to "http://www.garmin.com/de/brazil", same procedure as tom1807 did describe but they did NOT ask for an address..

By the way, you have to specify name and address during the purchase process, not at the beginning, but later, when you want to 'buy' the map for 0.00, but it needn't to be a real name and adress. And it is also necessary to have a myGarmin account and you have to register there your device - just so there are no misunderstandings!

I wish you could have gone too Mate! [But not as much as I wish I could!!]. And I agree, it is a nice gesture by Garmin and would have cost them more than a few sales of local GPS devices and one-off maps. But the PR value is enormous, it's even restored my faith in them slightly.

Simply because it's treated as a non-oem/other region one-off map sale albeit at no charge. Still, shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.
