    I can't help but feel Garmin has double standards here. How about the Dutch overseas regions in the Caribbean like Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao, just to mention a few. Similarly there are other European countries that still have overseas territory. Most famous examples are Australia and New Zealand where the British queen is still the official head of state....

    Australia and New Zealand are not British territories but the Falkland Islands are. I think perhaps the American's don't want to upset the Argentin.
