Florida in a South America mapset? I thought having French Guiana in a North America update was bad. Garmin is really messed up.
to smokefree:
...yes, for French Guiana is an overseas region of France which means that it is a part of France and the European Community. French Guiana is also shown on the map of the back side of the Euro bank notes..

You took the words right out of my mouth.
French Guiana in City Navigator Europe makes sense, for the reason already given.
French Guiana in City Navigator South America makes sense, because it is on the same continent.
Florida in City Navigator South America and French Guiana in City Navigator North America? Garmin has to be using these two areas in the two different map sets as a form of demo or attraction.
South America: "Ooh. Take a look at the high quality of the Florida map. If you want Mexico, Canada, and the rest of the United States, might we recommend going to our website and purchasing City Navigator North America?"
North America: "If French Guiana whets your appetite for more, might we recommend going to our website and purchasing City Navigator South America? In addition to French Guiana you get Columbia, Venezuela, Brazil, Chilé, and Argentina."
That's about the ONLY thing that makes sense.
I can't help but feel Garmin has double standards here. How about the Dutch overseas regions in the Caribbean like Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao, just to mention a few. Similarly there are other European countries that still have overseas territory. Most famous examples are Australia and New Zealand where the British queen is still the official head of state....
