The GPSMAP 66 is a worthy replacement with outstanding new features that will require some 'learning' for those coming from the much older 60 series GPSmap models.

User Error.

Thousands of waypoints can be displayed on the map screen if the space was there. I frequently view dozens of waypoints on the map screen at any given time.

Again, User Error.

Current Tracklog Recording can be configured to be hidden or be displayed as desired by the operator.

Just like an automobile, the Odometer can no tbe turned back. But there are Trip odometers etc. that can be reset at will.

This sentance is operator error. Does not make sense. THe issues you are experiencing are operator error.

I have returned my 66st. I am very disappointed with Garmin.
What a shame your decade newer device did work just the way the previous model you owned did. The truth is the GPSMAP 66 series is actually revolutionary compared to the older 60 series GPSmap series.
