Hahahaha, I'm almost ready to strangle it myself if they move their lazy asses and respond to a frickin' e-mail for once!

Hm, interesting. I also spotted European DAB stations channel settings in an XML file on the unit yesterday.

The thing is a premium subscription costs 30GBP per country. A GTM 70 is 50 EUR on amazon.de. Not to mention on their US website they state signals might be weaker in Europe (which is kinda natural due to the geography) so please buy an antenna extension (thank you very much). You get the point.

My only concern is whether, for some idiotic reason (like "Please buy a second GPS for Europe"), they haven't decided to made the LMTHD version totally incompatible with GTM 70. I'll try the UK e-mail cause I prefer to have things black on white. No lame excuses afterwards: "Nah, we told ya otherwise".

Yup, i do. I can also tell you that the cheaper 'megellan' extension antenna is the same as the black coloured 'oem garmin' and much much cheaper on eflea from Honkers or China. e.g.:

At least it will improve the flaky free FM reception in EU on your GTM60. These things are just a nuisance in NA & AU where i've found they make little or no difference. In EU they make a definite improvement to FM reception.

I doubt you will have any problem whatsoever using your NA unit with GTM70 for DAB reception. The actual unit EU 3597/3598 is identical to NA 3597 in both hardware and software, except for the factory programed default localization [essentially for OEM map data]. The suffix 'LMTHD' or 'LMT' or LMT-D' serves only to define the traffic receiver packed in the box, respectively GTM 60, GTM 36 and GTM 70. In AU we get only the 3597LMT which is the same as EU 3597LMT except for unit's default localization and GTM 36's traffic subscription. As NA 3597 is also the same unit [bar localization] as EU 3597/8 it should be OK, and EU 3597 lists GTM 70 as an optional accessory.
