    Default Nuvi 3597LMTHD in Europe

    Hello,

I bought a 3597LMTHD which I used quite successfully in the North America. I moved to Europe and surprises started coming up:

    1) Voice Command doesn't work for some items (e.g. Find Junctions). I get stupid error messages like:

"This feature is not available for United Kingdom in British English".

Changing to American English doesn't help either. I saw this on Garmin's website but I'm convinced there must be a workaround:

Regardless of the model used, voice command will only work with mapping that was originally preloaded with the device. Not all features will work with voice command if you are using supplemental maps (e.g., European maps on a device purchased in North America.)

I'll spare my foul language here.

    2) Traffic reception works only for FM which is totally useless. The unit comes with a GTM 60 receiver which seem to be incompatible with European's traffic service which runs on DAB. Of course, I have to spend at least 50 EUR for a stupid cable to get a GTM 70.

    Questions are:

2.1) Does the GTM 70 come with lifetime Digital Traffic (for crying out loud with Garmin's stupid terms - HD/3D Traffic for North America, Digital Traffic for Europe) or I need to purchase it separately (it costs about 30EUR per country, are they MAD???)? Does the license get tied to the cable/unit pair as well?

2.2) Can I sell my GTM 60 or its license is tied to the unit already? I saw there are some North America subcriptions listed under Settings => Traffic.

    3) Bluetooth hands-free mode doesn't work quite well. When I get an incoming call on Nokia E5 (whether my SIP client or from the GSM network) I don't see anything on the GPS screen. I'd expect to see a pop-up asking me to take the call (this is not related to my migration to Europe, was like this from the beginning).

Your help is greatly appreciated as I wrote 4 e-mails to Garmin and got 0 responses so far. They made it to the top of my list for most useless support team.
