Thank you Susie for posting this. You were a big help in that "other" forum. Don't know what happened to that "other" forum and I don't care as long as people like you find a place to share your knowledge. A shout out to ya ...... AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH !!!!!

BTW- I placed the .gmap folder version of this in an older Mapsource version (not in front of that computer to know exact version) and it loaded without problem. I then updated my C550, again, without problem. The map did say "Not Lockable" under "Manage Maps". I don;t know what that means, maybe someone could elaborate, but like I said ... no problems with .gmap folder version found at beginning of this thread.

Hi,

1st post for me. The 255W unlocked installation of 2011.10 went well and works fine. I think Garmin has a minor display problem in the sometimes the USA is flipped upside down but it will shortly autocorrect. As I have 2 of these units, I know that this is common to both units but occured only after 2011.10. My guess is that the next update in X months will corrrect this.

Thanks for the post susieQ. One question... I know how to unlock a map using Garmin Unlocker with device ID and map ID so the generated GMAPSUPP.IMG can be used on a device but how did you unlock the GMASUPP.IMG completely so it can be used by any Garmin GPS device? Thanks.

Please repost part 6 of the complete mapsource installation. The one I downloaded is only 60MB/400MB and unable to unrar/unzip complete set. Thanks.

First of all, Congratulations to this forum and everybody who helps.

1) I seach in the forum for "USA Speedcameras" or "Garmin USA POI" before asking and i dont find what i search. I'm traveling to Orlando-Fl-USA and i want the most recent POI with speed cameras and red light cameras, and if someone knows a good POI with restaurants, stores, atractions, etc who worth to put in the GPS, i aprecciate. I know the CNNA has good POI inside.

2) I dont undestand what i'm going to do with the file gmapprom1.img 899.984 kb. the Gps has 2Gb (internal memory) , the gmapsupp.img has 1.286.560 kb.

I have a nuvi 760 + Nokia E71 with Gamin Mobile Xt 5.00.60

if you want to update a previous CNNAM , before doing anything ,backup your gmapprom on your pc, then rename the new gmapsupp.img unlocked exactly like the old one and copy it in the same position the old one had in your nuvi.
If you have the last firmware perhaps the map will be locked so you must add an gmapprom.unl created with notepad
instructions:
to unlock an unlocked IMG
rename the map gmapprom.img and unlock with jetmouse keygen creating the unl file with notepad

on jetmouse keygen v1.5 put either the 10 digit gps unit id number (will be unlocked only in your gps)or the sd serial # (it will be unlocked in any gps you put the sd card
under-select map product --on the bottom ---custom map set---add the maps FID# also called mapid #

click generate a few times on the bottom-all those numbers will unlock the map--copy that 25 digit number into the gmapsupp.unl file --- don't add a enter --just 25 digits on the first line ----
on a sd card create a garmin directory--in that directory copy your gmapprom.unl file (unlock file) and the gmapprom.img
When you save the .UNL file in Notepad, be sure you set the "Save as type" to "All Files", not "Text Documents".
copy the unl file in the map folder

I was able to download part 6 of the complete Mapsource installation. All is well! Thanks catymag for verifying validity of file.

Just to get back to everyone that has helped me out, I was able to generate the base map, GMAPPROM.IMG for my Garmin StreetPilot c330 patched so it can be used on any device. Due to the internal memory size limitation on the c330, 930MB, I had to generate the map for eastern US only. I created the supplemental map, GMAPSUPP.IMG with the full map (US & Canada) on the external 2Gig San Disk. Thanks susieQ and catymag! It all worked out.
