Post here please your help request regarding Garmin

Accidentally started to delete main Europe map, stopped it, but then found device was apparently corrupted and had lost 0.5GB of memory

Ran CHKDSK to fix that and re-installed main Europe map NT v9 gmapprom.img from backup on computer. Seems to navigate OK BUT does not display street names unless I touch the street on the screen. Other maps on SD also fail to display street names, so it seems to be the nuvi rather than the map that's at fault. Tried re-installing software 5.00 via WebUpdate but no improvement. Also tried CHDSK again, but it found nothing wrong

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Uninstall garmin erase garmin folder on phone and reinstall it following this guide

I have a Nuvi 350. How do I install a map to this device? I need the Navcity Turkey map, but don't know how to do the installation (assuming I can download the img file from the link in one of the topics below).

I think 200 series nuvi cannot work with this gmapsupp1.img filename; its implemented for 700 series only.

OK, the solution was to "erase all user-created data" by holding finger on lower right corner of screen while turning on. Don't know how or why, but I've got my streetnames back on screen now.

I got a second hand Garmin nuvi 250.
There is only one map of Canada (2008) in it.
I am now moving to Australia.

There is no disk, no software, no memory card (I lost all in Canada).
when in Canada, I just used it as it was bought so have no idea of how to install Australia map now...
Is there any free solution for this?:D

PLS. where i find maps for Romanian pls where i found? i use nokia n95 8gb with garmin mobile XT incite ver. 50020 more precisely GarminMobileXTforWindowsMobile_50020w.

Hi there, I installed CNENT 2009 on my garmin nüvi200W (gmapsupp.img and gmapsupp.unl on sd card), followed the instructions by jetmouse and maps are not showing. I tried to enter both sd card and nüvi's unit ID as unit ID and both ways don't work. Now I read that if you update your Garmin via website, your unit becomes "fakeproof". Garmin supposely figured out a way to prevent illegal maps from being installed. Anybody heard if thats true...? If not whats my problem?

Appreciate any help or advice where to search for an answer...

I dont know but I think you probably have the txt ext in your file
create it with this tool
