The changes to prevent the update must be done in the ttgo.bak, insert the two lines for the 9.400 NC and Home won't bother you anymore.
Are you sure you have the right values in your ttgo.bak?

I changed my wife's XL with the two 9400 lines, deleted ttgo.bif, rebooted and is no update offered in TT Home, the ttgo.bif keeps the two 9400 lines, and ttgo.ori is generated.
I did exactly the same thing on my Go530 and the regenerated ttgo.bif always returns my old 8351NC, and no ttgo.ori is generated.
I have played around with various combinations ttgo.bif/bak/ori to no avail. Every time I reboot the 530 I get 8315 back again.

Hence my question of where does ttgo.bif get the info to regenerate.

FYI - I have now worked out that if I connect my 530 to the pc, cancel TT Home, use explorer to change ttgo.bif with the two 9400 line, then start up TT Home the 9400 NC is not offered. Great but ttgo.bif changes back the next time the 530 reboots.
