I have used for many years different versions of TomTom Go Mobile (the last one was 1.17) and I was happy that they had always pedestrian mode. However, with my new Samsung S23, after installing version 1.17, I had the message “You can’t connect to TomTom. Try later”. On Google Play store the latest versions is 3.6 but it does not have any more the pedestrian mode that I need.
I searched extensively through internet and found many (previous) Android TomTom versions but the problem is always the same: for the new versions, the connection to TomTim is OK but they don’t have the pedestrian mode. The other/older version that are supposed to have this mode can’t however connect to TomTom after installation. On the other hand, on my old Samsung S10 the 1.17 still works very well and can connect to TomTom.
So my questions are:
1. From which version TomTom stopped with the pedestrian mode? I.e. which versions of Go Mobile/Navigation/NDS still have this pedestrian/walking mode?
2. Is it normal that after the installation of 1.x, 2.x, NDS and MOD versions I can’t connect to TomTom and the app is blocked at the very beginning? Maybe I miss something during the installation... I tried at least 10 apk files from different sites, the installation ends correctly but then there is no connection to TomTom at the application start.
By the way, somebody may say that there are other applications for pedestrian/walking mode as Google Map, Sygic, AmiGo, Waze etc. but for me TomTom Go Mobile seems much better. Thus, if you can suggest a better GPS pedestrian application I will try it.
Thanks in advance!
P.S. For driving I use TomTom Go Essential. The mobile phone TomTom I use largely in pedestrian mode and seldom for driving as a spare solution.
