You don't have to go into the advanced edit, the option is there in the quick reply.
There's the add image to post link bottom left just below the posting text box and also the Insert Image button on the top of the posting text box.
If you're not seeing them perhaps you have something blocking them.

I did say that even going in to advanced didn't give an option. It's not there in the quick reply either. I'm at a loss. I've not knowingly changed anything and none of the tabs I have open have suffered. I think it's a vBulletin (which I've never liked) problem as I don't think any of the other sites I inhabit use it.

The site is almost unusable for me now.

Last note: Neither Ctrl-enter nor Alt-s (to action a post) work work either. Mind you I'm not absolutely certain either worked before to be honest.

The site software has not changed since 2017 it is still running version 4.2.4, yes there is a version 6.0 but according to Chaotix the add-ons that this site has won't work in the newer versions.

Just to show how f*cked up it is, clicking on the spoiler show button changes nothing so I can't see what you're trying show.

Late addition - I extracted the absolute URL of the image and pasted it into a new window and my screen looks nothing like that.

Only thing I can think of is something is blocking the options and icons you can't see.
Perhaps try another browser, or maybe clear current browser history, cookies and cache.
I'm typing this from the advanced thingo and I see the image options.

I had a similar issue here a while ago caused by intrusive advertising crud.
I couldn't see the images in the spoilers as they were being overridden by ads.

I can also see the image I posted in the spoiler you quoted above.

So you can't click show to see what is there, for a start what browser are you using? I only use FF and have never had browsing issues, have tried others and found them as bloated.
Anyway, I need to sort out new members and will be back in about 1hr.

I made another post which, unfortunately, seems to have not taken. Anyway I tried logging out and back in again and, waddyaknow, it's fixed. The simplest remedy worked. As nothing else has been affected I'm still minded that it was a vBulletin glitch, though!

It was a tense moment as I was worried that I might never have been able to post again if I couldn't log back in again!

For information I'm on Win10 home and use Brave browser with DuckDuckGo search engine.

For future information these are the screenshots I couldn't show before.

OK, so you can't see the forum skin option at the bottom RHC of the screen?

If you have a Glitch with your account, and it's serious you can log in as a new member and PM me, and we can sort it out "I hope" if not we ask Chaotix "remember I don't have full site access"

No, it's there now, along with with everything else that previously went AWOL. Besides I'm happy with the standard GPS Power style.

As an experiment I tried the other option (Mobile style 3) and was immediately presented the skin that I complained about. No option to change the style of course but logging out and back in again is the solution.

I can confirm that, just tried it myself, bit ordinary ain't it.
I didn't have to log out, couldn't even find the logout option at first, then in my profile down the bottom I found it, beside the logout option was an option to 'View Full Site' which I clicked, all back to normal.
