    Hi Roger,

    I tried your simulation on my Montana : .wav file still does not work.
    I only have tunnel icon and bip alert between river and tunnel.
    Anyway, Wav sound must not work on Montana because Garmin only allows France cyclops dangerous zone download for Nüvi and Zümo.

    Could someone that understand alerts from this french site, please explain the following alerts?

    Alerte_carrefour_dangereux = DangerousIntersection
    Alerte_danger_occasionnel = OccasionalHazard
    Alerte_passage_a_niveau = CrossingAlert
    Alerte_distance = DistantAlert
    Alerte_poids = WeightAlert
    Alerte_pont = BridgeAlert
    Alerte_troncon_debut = TronconEarlyWarning
    Alerte_troncon_fin = TronconAlertEnd
    Alerte_troncon_rappel = TronconReminderAlert
    Alerte_tunnel = TunnelAlert
    Alerte_vehicule_debut = VehicleEarlyWarning
    Alerte_vehicule_fin = VehicleAlertEnd
    Alerte_vehicule_rappel = VehicleReminderAlert
    Alerte_zone_dangereuse = DangerZone

    Wouldn't some of these alerts (such as Zone,Tunnel,Bridge) be a span (distant) instead of just a single point?

    Edit:

    Ok,I've tried to match up coord from Cyclop with the France database. The type=13(speedLimit?) used in Cyclop seem to mapped to "OccasionalHazard"

    Not 100% sure but i think that to comply with legislation ALL the alerts in France have to be spans/zones for a certain distance, rather than a specific point defined by a single set of co-ordinates.

    Exact. Since January 3, 2012 , the products or devices that warn or inform of the location of radars are prohibited by law. But GPS devices are still authorised to indicate the location of the dangerous zones ...

    Are GPS allow to indicate the type of alerts (mobile, fixed, redlight, sectional, etc...) or just a single "dangerous zones" for all alerts?
    Cyclop alerts for France has changed to use different types from others countries.

    No, GPS are not allowed to indicate any radar..
    GPS are only allowed to indicate "danger zones" and "speed limits".
    Danger zones are announced according to the type of the road: 4 km on highways, 2 km out of town and 300 meters in urban areas. Danger zones can be: Fixed radars, mobile radars areas, crossings, the road narrowed, bridges and tunnels, steep slopes, cornering reported dangerous, schools and summer camps, hospitals ...

    Help are needed to verify different alert types. There are still many problem to solved and questions left unanswered. I've collected stats for the oldest of above file. The alert type breakdown are

    05 = 2689 <- mobile
    09 = 1876 <- fixed
    0b = 529 <- redlight

    so it doesn't have sectional nor redlight+fixed, does this sound right? So before the law, France Cyclop has 3 type of alerts (specific), and after the law, it switched to 2 (generalized).

    Edit:

    The stats for 2nd oldest are

    12 = 4 <- no longer in recent Cyclop
    13 = 3
    14 = 1886

    And the stats for the least oldest are

    09 = 1
    12 = 4
    13 = 4
    14 = 1888

    which is interesting that it has 09 (suppose to be removed or converted to type 12,13 or 14) Hmmm, so now I have to figure out 3 (not 2) France specific alert type of values 12,13 and 14.

    The latest Cyclop for France uses only type 13 and 14.

    13 = 11
    14 = 3102
