Unlock mio spirit 6900???

Thanks for your input. I have done so many SD unlocks on various Mio devices that I don't think that there is any model which I haven't done before

All SD unlocks works the same way, just SD card name varies. As you suggested, 90% of all Mio devices see SD card as "Storage Card" but some newer models see it as SDMMC, that's why I prepared 2 options (v3 and v4) for SD unlock, because I'm not sure about this one as I don't have a backup. I will download your files, for the flash disk unlock if necessary. Thanks for providing it.

Hi, a few years ago, when Mio 4-digits(f.e. 6900,4800) arrives on the market , we encounter the prpblem with unlock it. Panel from SDcard works fine ONLY when we insert it into powered on Mio unit. Founded exception - working "normally" with f.e. SanDisc Ultra 16GB and a few others HighSpeed microSD - but not all. And with not all of 6900

Problem disappers in models like 7500 and 8500 unit.
So, fully power on the unit, next insert sdcard. Or, try with different highspeed microsd.

Thank you very much for your patience. The device is not that important. It's about the problem why and why is that.
OK! I have ordered a new SD card 4 GB. I have always formatted with FAT32.
There are a few information about the device.
It started with the map update in Poland at Media Expert. Result device without function. Only Mio explore More screen. New to me since today is a worker of Media Expert has tried from another MIO SPIRIT6900LM with function to copy the SW on the broken.
Without success. Can that be the cause of our problem?
It's really interesting to find out why Janch's new SW is not working. The old man learns from YOU - THANK YOU

I have another idea. At Allegro (Polish Ebay) in Poland I have seen Mio Spirit 6900LM for sale for 85 Zlty. that's about 20EURO. Maybe you could compare the two softwares of the devices and test the SW of Janch in this device.

No need to buy another device as Im sure (If your patience won't run out), we will get your device back on track, running even better as it has ever before. But to be clear, you should know what we are trying to achieve:

1. Modify original (visual) interface, so you can run alternate navigation software (first step)
2. Replace original Mio navigation software with better alternative - iGO Primo with the latest HERE maps (second step)
3. "Fine tunning" of the new navigation software (third step)

These steps won't restore your device to it's factory state as there will be completely different visual outcome along with the navigation software which is far better as it is default Miomap sw.

And you are wondering about the reason why is your mio messed up - well, these things may happen sometimes when doing official updates..if some files are corupted or for some reason are not transferred correctly to the unit, you may end up with "soft-bricked" device and the result is your example. In the end that doesn't mean that device is permanently damaged and it can't be restored. We just can take advantage of the situation and transform "wreck" to Porsche and that was the meaning of my previous words..

Thanks that was in detail. It's not about the MIO but about learning from you because it's fun.
I started doing that weeks ago. Had 3 Navi Navgear GP43 stopped working. In 2 devices I copied IGO8.3.4 software with HERE maps and one equipped with Becker50.
Then I have the devices GIVEN. I just loved the fun.
What do I do with the Mio? I'll read your article in peace and think.

I thought this happened with the copied on SD card SW verse 1-4?
Will the new SW be copied to the internal memory?
I have a problem with that. Have new map data with MioMore Desktop7.50 and MioMore website in the device
saved successfully. After switching off and on everything was no longer available. Have synonymous files and folders deleted synonymous, the were OFF and ON again. For me it looks like the internal memory is especially protected for new installations.
Use Apolyps writes here from FLASH UNLOCK what happens with it?

Now we have as comparison in Poland for 85Zlty. bought the Navi Mio 6900LM. Here I have seen that there for converted 2.50EUR also SW for the million is sold. Can this file be shown here? Would that be interesting for you. Could that possibly help?

- With the provided and properly configured unlock menu above
- Included in unlock menu package above
- It should but for some reason your Mio is to stubborn to read and execute unlock scripts from SD card on boot (that's why I prepared flash disk unlock)
- yes, so make sure that you create a full backup of your Mio before proceeding

For me it looks like the internal memory is especially protected for new installations.

- Im sure it's NOT, unless there is a hardware issue
- Link above is "Flash unlock" which means that all modifications runs from flash disk and not from SD as it was my plan form the first place.

Hello Janch!
Thanks for the software. I loaded these and unzipped them to an SD card. What's next? Readme contains this text:

1. Copy folders "PowerButton" and "slide" to \ Mio flash disk \ Program files \
2. Copy folders "Primo" and "Progs" to \ Mio flash disk \
3. Copy / replace file appstartupsec.ini to \ Mio flash disk \ Program Files \ Navman \
4. Unplug device from USB and Power OFF / ON
5. Mio should boot into new visual menu with icons ..

Does that mean that these folders must be copied directly to the Mio? Did I understand that correctly ?

Did I understand correctly that the MIO Spirit should now be started from the INTERNAL MEMORY? Should the external SD slot be occupied with an SD card?

Oh cr@p, that one stroke me badly...I'm sorry to see that you are having issues with understanding of a really basic things..But I won't blame you as you are new in this world of hacking PNA devices and to crack MIO is not really good option for learning for total beginers with zero understadnig what is flash disk, SMMC etc..

Flash disk = device internal memorry (wehen you connect MIO to a PC you can clearly see it. There are lots of files and folders)
SD card - you don't need it at all when using flash disk based unlock. I propose it because we failed to do it with SD unlock variant.

4 weeks ago I first started to learn PC and Navi. Before, I only wrote emails and bought on Ebay. Thanks to you I have already learned a lot. Since I lack many basics I prefer to ask several times. That is also a learning effect.
As you write it, I thought so too.
I have already seen the folders and files in the Spirit 6900.
How can I show pictures here in the forum. Is that synonymous directly as a file? I only see with URL
