You need tmc lycs only if your unit have physical TMCI didn't see any android unit with it. Mostly uses online data (if have access to net).
What do you mean add address to favorite? You mean to custom poi? Or use some from database?

What I mean is that in the old iGO Primo I could go to history > address > ( I think ) long press and add to favourites.
Cannot find a way to do this in Nextgen ?

It seems that with Nextgen, "Favorites" is called "saved location"
To do what I think you have asked, please see the images below.
I don't know the skin that is being used in this thread, but it should look something similar to these images
