The Primo version doesn't matter at all, as far as British standards were concerned, they all had to adjust subsequently

I forgot this

and that's what you should remember
Licenses for NG are deficient or non-existent.
Of course
No licenses exists ... use good old Primo.
I am using iGO Primo v.9.6.13.405512 in a 7" Win CE6.0 car GPS with 256MB ram/8GB storage. Would like to additionally install iGO Nextgen as an option. What are the steps and which version is the suitable version. I have read through about the below versions.
1) Nextgen 9.18.40.743913
2) Nextgen 9.19.1.665137
3) Nextgen 9.19.5.584533
4) NextGen 9.19.2.543580

Be very happy that Primo works and it works perfectly
I very much like to use Primo since 10 years ago and still happy using.
Recently, I acquired a used China made Leshp 6.0" android navigator with system 4.4.2 for US$7.50. The previous owner only use Google Map which require the internet.
It started my study to put iGO Nextgen into this old android set.
I read this forum for many days to find the solution which I finally did; (iGO World 9.18.27.736653 (19.06.2018) on SD.) appreciate all the inputs here. Thank you very much.
The specifications of this set:

Besides the license problem , what is the disadvantage of Nextgen compared to Primo 2.4 in a portable Win CE 6.0 China made 7" GPS?
I also noted that more users opt for Primo instead of Nextgen previously, what is the situation currently?
For me, comparing the two sets, android need to be put to "sleep" mode in order to start up again to where I have switched off the car engine otherwise it would need to go through startup of the android system again before the iGO app.
On top of that the screen at max is still darker than the Win CE 6.0 GPS. Calculation of route is slightly faster with Nextgen though.

Android devices are generally newer and have much stronger hardware than WinCE based. On the other hand, WinCE is very minimalistic and maximally optimized
Primo is completely stable, works perfectly, but there is not (much) room for improvement
It does the job it is intended for completely (independent offline navigation)
NextGen is simply more modern, more configurable and of course with full support for online services
Apart from somewhat higher hardware requirements, the lack of additional skins (although it is possible to use some of those for android, I think Wandel skin has that possibility), the real problem is "only" that one - licenses
Software without licenses is absolutely useless
In fact, if someone managed to completely cr*ck the NG exe's the way it was done with Primo, then that wouldn't be a hindrance either
But it is much more complex to "break through" them, and apparently there hasn't been enough interest for years
The WinCE platform has been dead for a long time, but it continues to live through devices and beyond![]()
UnderstandI agree that a "matured" optimized software is way better.
A CPU 800Mhz, 256MB ram and 7" touchscreen, with a resolution of 800 x 400 pixels is really low spec so Primo 2.4 with a exe file of 10MB (compare to NG 16MB) is the way to go.
Actually, these specifications are TOP for WinCE devices
For any edition of Primo even overkill, for Nextgen, Mio and some other software - just right
In this case, the size of the exe does not play any role, nor the CPU power, but the addons (ux's) and the RAM amount.
