I understand now what you mean about the essay . Your approach has a lot in common with creating icons for kml files, something it took a lot of study and reading to understand. I must say I'm very impressed you
were able to identify the main gas retailers on our little islands and find the logos for them!

So far I've only been able to do a limited test on my WinCE device and your files work well. The experiment has uncovered a few inconsistencies in the way HERE and TomTom categorise pois, e.g TomTom lists g.a.s. as GAS, and PAK'nSAVE also appears as PAK 'nSAVE (with a space).

I think I can overcome these differences by adding a few more lines to poi_visibilities.txt covering the variations. I assume there is no reason why in poi_visibilities.txt I cannot have multiple lines pointing at the same icon?

I look forward to having a try and testing on my android phone when time permits.
