Thread: Road traffic signs delay.

This is how I understand driver alerts work; there are two modes: prewarn (icon is B&W) and warn (icon is color). Prewarn distances can be set. Warn is fixed (exact sign) location. It's behaving as it's designed. Under NextGen, I have options to set the prewarn distances for 4 different classes of driver alerts: Curves and Corners, Lanes and Overtaking, General Warnings and Traffic and Crossing. This is done under Settings->Warnings->Road Signs. Sorry I don't remember where to set this under iGO/Primo because I don't use it now. You can also modified the distances under sys.txt

It's not about the Warning Sign Alerts, it's about the Driver Alert Signs (fda file), which is something different.

The best way I have found to get a preliminary alert for the Driver Alert Signs was to use the Doupas skin, and the TTS Pro settings -> Read Out DA Signs -> "Method Approach - Preliminary". This way the TTS voice reads the traffic signs when the black&white icon appears, and there is a distance long enough before the real road traffic sign appear.
