I'm using several maps (.fbl) from different providers. I also have multiple POIs for a map. You can named them to be anything; the name of the file doesn't matter. When you select "Places", there is icon that allow you to search from all or specific provider.

I started loading maps and pois/Buildings from different providers and so far so good.
Over the weekend I will mix maps and post results.
