Car Mix of Tomtom and HERE files on IGO?

I have an embedded IGO in my car navigation and because I'm in South America some maps are better or newer in TT and others in HERE.

Then my question is for those who mixed maps from both brands in the same map folder:
    • Is it a big issue or it should work?

I know it is not recommended but in my case it would be very convenient.

    • A secondary question is to mix Map from TT with HERE POIs, does it work? Sometimes?

    Thank you for your feedback.

you can safely use the tt maps in content/map and then put the poi here in content/poi. They work equally

Thank you @Junior but I don't think I can run the map changer in my car radio. I only can add maps and related files I cannot access the program folder.

OK Pavolino so Issume I can mix maps from different vendors like one country (CHile) fromTomtom and other Country (Peru) from HERE without trouble, is that correct?

    Not.
You can mix poi and buildings without problems
Other content - is not recommended and it may cause problems.

P.S. What device you have in your car? What OS is on it?

    Answer
    Spoiler: .

Yes you can use POI from different providers than the map being used. You can even use POIs from many different providers. For example, if you put both HERE and TomTom POIs of a region under the .../content/poi directory, both will be used. And when you search, proggy will give options to use them.

You can put/mix .fbl from any vendor under the .../content/map directory. You can put any version of .fbl under .../content/map directory. Proggy will select the latest one for a region/county based on a criteria* and then find a match for other files such as .fsp, .fda, .ftr, .fpa, .fjv, .fjw, etc... to use with it. You can check it under About->Content->Maps. So you can be using HERE for France and TomTom for Spain. When you are driving in France, it will use HERE content of France; when you are driving in Spain, it will use TomTom content of Spain.

Files in other directories such as .../content/dem, .../content/building, .../content/poi, .../content/speedcam, etc... can be from different provider or version of the selected .fbl

My ProviderIcon UX will tell you which provider it is using for a current region you're in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    * Proggy can select which vendor to used based on size; for example, you can specify to use a vendor with the largest size. This is when "map changer" can cause unexpected problem.

Boki_Srb I'm running an RLINK2. It is an android embed System with a patch. I can only add files under content/ directories.

    Thank you osiris4isis
When you talk about Proggy, is it a cracked version of IGO/NNG program?
I cannot add any mapchange or any other mod because it is a closed software inside a car navigation (RLINK2). I can only add maps files inside content/ folder.
Thinking in a standard IGO, can I Mix maps from different vendors?
I just want to use some maps for some countries different from vendor for another country. But the set of files (Fbl, fsp, fpa, etc) will be from same vendor.

RENAULT R-Link 2 using patched firmware/iGO. That is the info you should say it first.
Anyway, it can be only patched to accept maps without buying it. Forget any story about mapchanger and similar. Use only one map provider, and only content you can mix are buildings and pois (and spc, ofcourse).
Set of files (Fbl, fsp, fpa, etc - map related) must be from one provider.

    Thanks Boki_Srb,
When you say all maps from same vendor , Does it mean I cannot mix map providers at all?
    Or
It is just about don't mix providers for different type files (Fbl, fsp, fpa, etc) for the same country?

For one country can only be map files of one provider. In all situations.
But, can you even mix providers at all - depends on software.
What is exact version of software in unit?

Actually, the story is a little longer.
Once (upon the time ) the all maps were compatible, and you could have used it mixed. From TeleAtlas (TomTom today), Navteq (here), and a bunch of local providers (TopMap editions - Basar, CEDA, Epsilon, Navigo...etc ). Then everyone (actually - the large ones) started pulling at their own side. Problems with various editions began to appear.
The maps were no longer fitting, which was seen at the border crossings, which was a minor problem.
Then appeared the serious problem - routing is bypassed state of another provider.
Ie, the software is recognized all maps, but during routing taking into consideration only one edition.
    That's why are designed mapchangers.
