Thread: iGO: which map is better in your country?

No clear vote for both of them .
I think TT uses more compression in map files and Here not work serious as Navteq.Smaller files of TT maps, load and run smoothy in Igo, that's nice for mobile devices .

Try both them in some trip in Europe ,gave me in general similar coverage even in small town.In bigger town TT maps looks like more detailed,many time with better routing.Some Here maps include roads limited finished or out of service for some direction for long time,so useless if don't care.But also TT is not clear in pedestrian streets.

Latest TT maps covers East Europe,Turkey very well,except some small area and Ukraine .Looks like TT starts use again local providers info, to work with details.Poi info and signs over map of both provider have error ,less in Here.But TT still regular offer more poi,no need to wait Here's extended poi.Here's very usefull are the fda files and many poi and places translate to English in East Europe.

Finally a reminder to Tom Tom .In the past by 2009, there are some files only for major roads of Europe.A new version maybe is useful for basic fast driving.Many files for reading,damages SD card,so often need backup.
