    I have had 3 garmin devices and never have I been able to use a .img file on the sd card. Don't know why..... it must be me

    Maybe we can sort it out...

    What 3 device models do you have (Nuvi's or handhelds). What are the symptoms when the don't work (ie. not recognized, locked, etc)?

    If the card is formatted correctly (FAT or FAT32) and the IMG is named correctly and in the correct folder for a particular device there is no reason why it shouldn't work. Don't give up yet.
