Thread: Garmin Nuvi MapSet format- how to store them in your device

I cant see your new gmapprom.img in that screen. There are no maps in nuvi.
I don't see a sd screen so I don't know if it's present or not.
You need a basemap (gmapbmap.img ) and a timezone map (gmaptz.img) in nuvi too.
Install Garmin USB drivers and connect nuvi to your pc and run Garmin Express first, then update files.
Basemap can be found on forum, check Maps Index.
After that copy the new .img unlocked named gmapprom.img to Garmin folder in unit or named gmapsupp.img in sd.
Note: Garmin's older model devices that support an SD card larger than 4GB but are not able to use a map file that is larger than 2GB:

You need to install CN pc version to send the .img you need to nuvi.
For pc install unlocking follow [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

gmaptz.img is not supported by Nuvi 660 and the best way do not put it in device.
