have you unlocked it? or have you the unlock file named like your new map in the same folder( eg. gmapprom1.img and gmapprom1.unl)?

I have not unlocked. The downloaded file is an img file. If I need to unlock, could you please link the instructions?
Root dir is on the device (no card). There are no unl files that I can observe. Root dir has the 3 files already there (for NA and Europe - not sure about the third); that's gmapbmap, gmapprom and gmapsupp. I HAVE NOT renamed the downloaded img file as any of the existing three. I simply tried additional names.
If I need to rename into one of the existing img files, which one should it be? will I lose any mapping capabilities? any other impact?
    Many thanks
